Just some of the Rights
That We Are
Losing

By Nancy C. Thomson

Freedom of Association

We were told that private organizations could no longer define their own membership. Every organization must be open invitation to all. Men’s clubs must admit women, country clubs can’t be closed to women or minorities, and even traditional boy’s sports like football must admit girls.

Freedom of association is no longer legal. The government will dictate the makeup of public and private clubs and gatherings.

Children have been bussed miles away from neighborhood schools to insure ethnic diversity in another area. Every race must be cast into a sea of diversity celebrating people’s differences. There is emphasis on every third world culture but no representation of America’s background in these exercises.

Freedom of Speech

In some cases, certain people still retain the right to express their opinions, but this doesn’t include persons not of third world descent, or those of conservative persuasion. Baseball player John Rocker was ridiculed unmercifully by the media for stating his opinion that the diversity of people found on the streets of New York make him feel like he is no longer in the USA. While allowing that "Rocker" has the right of free speech, all the detractors stated, nevertheless he should be fired, and go through sensitivity training. That sounds more like retribution than the right of free speech to me!

The point is we have been placed in a straight jacket afraid to express our opinions anymore for fear of offending someone who could choose to make any remarks a court case. This is leading to a disingenuous praising of unfit public officials and celebrities. Ethics is no longer used as a base for judgement of anyone. If the non-judgmental liberals wish to place a scoundrel on a pedestal, and paint an honest person as an outcast, the majority of the public goes along with it. The fear of expressing a different opinion and the consequences of doing so outweigh the advantages of objective reasoning.

Just as the mergers going on in banks, grocery stores, retailers, and communications, the combined power of the politically correct media, courts, educational and government agencies means we all join the club or perish as outsiders. Government regulators are free to institute unconstitutional and absurd regulations because only a handful of our representatives are brave enough to try and stop the trend toward the establishment of unconstitutional speech.

The Second Amendment

We know the federal and state representatives are creating one anti-gun bill after another. "Experts" on banning guns claim the right to disarm the rest of us because of some personal or related incidence of problems relating to the use of armed force in their lives. In fact, many bills are passed due to one person’s experience that is made into a cause celebre. Then legislation is passed and new regulations are imposed on the population to whom the bill has no relevance. Gun victims become celebrities and traverse the country. They gain access to the TV shows and whip their audiences into the gun confiscation mode often at the proper time to influence an election or two.

Some supervisors in Los Angeles California have put a new spin on the weapons debate. Not wishing to be called "gun grabbers" they have suggested instead that ammunition be banned.

Our forefathers were fearful of the King and his court and that is why they put so much emphasis on the right to gun ownership in the Second Amendment. Who would have us believe that there is no reason to fear the infringement on our rights by the past and present Washington officials ?

Most people remain uninformed about the intentions of the freedom restricting UN. From the start, one of the stated principals of this body was to get rid of all privately owned firearms.. NATO, and the present multinational "peacekeepers" (all composing the UN Army) are scheduled to be the only people with guns.

Propagandizing by the hundreds of UN affiliated local and national organizations in the US has made it difficult to explain the true agenda of take over envisioned by this international control giant.

Guns have, and will continue to be one of the most important factors in determining whether a nation can retain its freedom.
