National Defense Requires a Defended Border

Unconstitutional "agreements" (in effect, treaties) usurpation of power by the executive branch and lack of congressional will to counter unlawful actions has turned the US into a giant receptacle dumping ground.

Our military, many under NATO and UN command are stretched thin throughout 110 foreign nations. Every encounter in "peace enforcement" and "implementing democracy" has been a disaster. Meanwhile we remain unprotected as millions cross into our country illegally, overstay their visas and bring their extended families here through family reunification.

There are troops from many foreign countries training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, (1) while our military and National Guard are deployed overseas.

Few things are as important in our constitution as national defense. This subject relates to everyone in the US. How can a country defend its sovereignty with open borders?

Because they are not wearing uniforms and waving rifles, the thousands of illegal aliens crossing our California and other southwest borders are called everything from undocumented workers to migrants instead of invaders. Disease, crime and poverty all increase when millions of people neglected in their homeland invade a totally different population. Instead of guns they conquer by sheer numbers. It is a game played with words.

Immigrants coming to the US in the interest of freedom reflect the reasons this country was founded. Those immigrating for financial gain are creating the havoc that the internationalists envisioned. A whole industry has grown up at taxpayer expense catering to immigrants unable to cope with the American life. A host of societal ills has accumulated. In California our medical, education, infrastructure, housing and legal systems are all under attack from the over burdening influx of people from outside the US. As a result the culture that produced the most advanced country in the world is being redesigned.

Some think we must alert our government about what is happening. In reality, the US government is passing legislation implementing defenseless borders.

A series of congressional legislative actions has determined that the US would eliminate borders to the north and south by creation of the "free trade agreement" NAFTA. In 1983 it was the Reagan La Pas agreement to clean up the US /Mexican border. (2) NAFTA (free border access of people, goods and dignity of migrants protected) (3) superimposed itself on the La Pas agreement establishing 2 organizations that produced the 1996 BORDER XX1. It places joint partnership between the US and Mexico for 60 miles on either side of the border. (4) Essentially this eradicated the border between Mexico, and the states of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

This is the essence of global governance where an area has been established by regulatory action without the approval of the voters. (5)

Does this explain the lack of federal agents willing to protect private property in these southwestern states from illegal trespassing? Upon questioning most representatives plead ignorance.

Executive Order 13122 more than doubled the XX1 area to include 150 miles on both sides of the border and was called "The Southwest Development Region. (6)

The open border with its accompanying open marketplace is expressed by "conservative " Senator Phil Gramm who promised Mexico unlimited access to the US labor market. (7)

Sacramento officials have been criticized by Washington for not doing enough for non-English speaking clients. A 1973 law requires state and local agencies to provide information and services in languages the client understands. (8) Departments would go bankrupt if they complied with this law.

Our national defense is suffering in another important area because of open borders. "If college students see that ever-increasing imports of programmers and engineers are suppressing wage growth, and producing age discrimination, the students will vote with their feet and study some other field" (9) This event is already taking place in medical and other scientific study programs.

Due to present policies, our government has made the US vulnerable to terrorists as well as military invasion aided by fifth column immigrants in our midst. September 15 Bush will be meeting with Vicente Fox. Letters and faxes should flood the communication lines in Washington. It is time to uphold the interest of the US and forget Fox's attempt to force us in to sharing his country's poverty and corruption.
