Smart Growth, UN Development Ordinance (UDO) Redevelopment, Regionalism, and Eminent Domain

What do they all have in common?

They are all part of the same package.  Recently the Supreme Court made it legal for local governments to take private property to be used by even private buyers who can produce more tax funds for the city.

Redevelopment forces can declare a non -blighted area—blighted and thus take over even large sections of land.

In Charleston S Carolina, you have to pay before giving land to your heirs.  It could cost more than $56,000 in Charleston County to transfer a deed to your children.  This happened under the UN UDO. The Charleston County Planning Commission accepted the UN land plan in 1994.

Wisconsin’s Smart Growth Law

Comprehensive land -use legislation.  A coalition of groups worked on this legislation to create better land-use rules and policies.  It takes in regulation of transportation, housing, neighborhood development and many other aspects of land management.

Ohio, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin are part of the regional system as described by Nixon.  This engenders dividing the US into 10 regions that would dissolve private property and the private means of production.

Smart Growth areas are sprouting up all over, Arizona, New Mexico and California.  They are also in Europe. These are “mixed use” high rises, transportation hubs, schools and businesses all mixed together.  Single family homes are not part of the plan and neither are private cars advisable.  People can walk or ride bikes to their close destinations. Besides we will all be using public transportation.

This general concept was under wired in the architecture of the NAFTA/GATT International Highway that has been progressing throughout the United States.  Lots of transportation corridors and toll roads while whole communities are to be crowded into hub areas.  Outlying districts would be eradicated.
