Who Is Out of Control?

By Nancy Thomson

Attorney Greg Craig (Clinton attorney) sent a letter to all the heads of the TV stations trying to discourage them from covering the removal of 6 year old Elian Gonzalez from his relative’s house. Fortunately photos were taken and this request was disregarded. Breaking into the house black masked marshals toting assault weapons threatened unarmed Elian family members while ransacking their house. Fortunately most of these happenings have been captured on television.

While we are treated to endless media anniversary coverage of Columbine, and the bombing in Oklahoma, no attention was given to the Waco tragedy that killed many more people and occupies the same time frame. Unlike Ruby Ridge and Waco, the extreme police actions taken in Miami have been shown live with a blow by blow commentary.

Not afforded any anniversary notice was the 1997 night raid by masked authorities on the owners of property on Santa Cruz Island off the California coast. Because the third generation owner refused to sell, the government took his property.

Congress keeps adding more draconian laws along with massive educational counseling. Psychologists are constantly on the television mind conditioning what is left of individual thought. Our government officials deem this necessary because many people are out of control. Diversity critics a la the Rocker need to be retrained.

Military type government invasions of private property are on the rise in California and elsewhere but receive little publicity. The Clinton administration has armed 60,000 more people in various government agencies.

Meanwhile, California with its strategic coastline is host to a list of problems affecting the security of the United States. Closure of the Long Beach Naval Station and the adjoining profitable shipyard surprised many. Strategically located with dual ship access to both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, the Naval Station was a city in itself. The former shipyard was able to service the most difficult repair jobs.

Both the Long Beach City Council and the appointed Port Authority in conjunction with the Clinton administration wanted the vacated Naval Base to become a container area for COSCO (China Ocean Shipping Company.) Any occupant of this terminal area controls the port. John Huang, the Chinese Riady family operative gave thousands of dollars to the Democratic National Committee just for this take over.

When opposition arose to demolishing the Base, the authorities had to act quickly. Closing off the area to the public and news media they bulldozed, set fire to, and dynamited the sports facilities, auditorium, hospital, officers club, the main building containing 2-3 thousand rooms, chapel, and extensive landscaping. Legislative action by Congressman Hunter of California and Senator Inhofe of Oklahoma prevented COSCO from obtaining control of this Long Beach Naval Station.

The pile of rubble that once was a beautifully landscaped city with street signs turned into a liability. Now a new tenant for this Naval Station land has finally been found.

Hanjin, from South Korea, the port’s largest tenant has agreed to more than double its space by moving to the intended COSCO terminal. Necessary construction on this Pier T will take 2 years and cost $ 500 million. South Korean’s Hinjin will be bringing in thousands of containers from its largest trading partners, Japan and China. Due to the large volume it will be impossible to inspect many of these receptacles. On the back of these Hinjin ships appears the words, Beijing and Inchon. What do you suppose this means!

Over 4000 trained technicians lost their jobs when the Long Beach shipyard closed.

AMC, a construction company, negotiated for this property but the port authorities said due to a late rental payment they would be evicted. It is rumored this construction space will be turned into another container base. We have a $300 billion trade deficit. Areas reserved for importation of foreign goods in lieu of military bases isn’t a good deal.

Reckless government action whether executed on private or taxpayer’s property is unforgivable. Perhaps the publicity given to Elian’s case will initiate the movement to curb the unlawful powers being usurped by the executive branch of government. The defense of the United States should not be compromised because of money needed to fill political coffers.
