"Secrecy is the first essential in affairs of the State" -Armand
Jean du Pleissis (Cardinal de Richelieu, chief minister to King Louis XIII.
We are truly living in an era of generated information giving but we
can't identify truth from propaganda. The problem is who gives us
the information, where does it come from, and what sources should we tune
into.
Echelon whirls around the world in the sky zeroing in on all messages,
telephone calls and faxes, no matter the language or country. The super
secret National Security Agency with its 10 acres of underground computers
gathers information internationally. It has developed a biometric
system that can identify people's voice patterns, touch on the computer,
gait and facial structure. Air -line passengers are now rated according
to whether they might constitute a danger to the airlines. Their financial
status and other personal data are rolled off the computer before they
are allowed to board.
Devices allow someone in a plane or other vehicle to listen in on the
conversation in another car. The police use infra-red to see through
houses and know who is there.
Most people are so busy they don't have time to worry about such electronic
advances or how it affects them. During World War II era they trusted
the news coming from the government or the revered reporters like Walter
Cronkite and Edward R. Morrow. Little did the public realize the
Russians were inviting opinion molders from America to Moscow where they
were wined and dined while being propagandized. Not many noticed
the change in slanted nuances favoring the communists following the Moscow
visit.
These groups included educators, and of course newsmen. Such
a guest of the communists was Edward R Morrow.
Israel has followed the same pattern. Several KRLA talk show
hosts have been given royal treatment there as has our favorite George
Putnam. Important Israeli officials are available to news people
who provide them with "exclusives" for their program.
George met with Golda Meier and had a grove of trees named after him.
Bob Dornan has made about 13 trips to Israel and was invited to fly with
their pilots. Supporting Israel was one of Dornan's major campaign
stands while running against Dana Rohabacher in the last election.
Is the government of Israel worthy of the trust extended by these Americans?
Traiters and Carpetbeggers in the Promised Land, by Barry Chamish is
a short 190 page book full of information that everyone should read.
Barry is a Jew residing in Israel who "presents a journal record of the
conspirators, both within and without Israel, who have through greed and
political ambitions negated the biblical promise to the nation."
American and Israeli politics are intertwined on many levels.
This book reveals the connections to the CFR, Clinton, Kissinger, Bush,
PLO, and the U.N. among other relationships. It brings into focus
our problems in the Middle East.
The need to question decisions made at the higher levels extends to
a foreign policy that has erupted into Perpetual Wars for Perpetual Peace.
Thank goodness for the Freedom of Information Act.
It was released information from this Act that revealed the truth about
the war in Vietnam. It should never have happened. Robert McNamara
told President Johnson that word was received of a North Vietnamese rocket
shot across the bow of one of our ships in the Tomkin Gulf. This
incident never took place. The Whiz Kids, a group of civilians were
put in charge of running the war from their comfortable surroundings in
Washington D.C. One of them was McNamara. They chose bombing targets
for the day at random by sticking pins in the map.
Since this was an undeclared war and like Korea, was under U.N. authority,
all battle plans had to be cleared with the Security Council. Thus
our communist friends on the Security Council, Russia and China knew about
our war strategies before we staged them. Both of these countries
were aiding the Vietnamese communists.
Our family learned about the ground war first hand. Camp Pendelton
asked us to host a program at our church for marines ready to leave for
war. From their letters, as well as visits upon returning home, we
found out what was really going on in Vietnam. It didn't match the
news on the radio, TV or government pronouncements.
Do you remember McNamara cleared his conscience by writing that book
on why we shouldn't have gone to war in Vietnam?
This obvious miscalculated war just set me searching for information
about all the other wars involving the U.S. Once your trust has been
betrayed it follows that only research can dig up the truth about the past.
The saying is trite but true, if you don't know the past you're bound to
repeat it.
Government will get away with whatever it can as long as no one stops
them.
TV and radio hosts have to please sponsors as well as the owners
of the stations. They don't have to document anything or to identify
their sources. Between announcements, call-ins and advertising no
time is available for background education. Other avenues need to
be added for clarification.
There are excellent articles to be found on the Internet. One
of the best sources for information of course is obtained from reading
books. They provide details along with documented verification.
Some authors travel the globe and spend years of collecting data for their
publications. They must document their evidence.
To find a good starting place to zero in on the real truth it's
necessary to retrace the events in the First World War. In order
to understand why we were deceived about entering into World War I, read
the book, The Luisitania. This passenger ship was actually an armed
cruiser of the British Royal Navy. Churchill was Lord of the Admiralty
and knew the war couldn't be won without getting the U.S. involved.
He arranged all sorts of events so that with the sinking of the Luisitania
we did enter that war.
A number of books have been written about World War II. Again
Churchill played a part in our participation. Roosevelt set the stage.
Roosevelt's Secret War, FDR and World WarII Espionage is excellent reading
as is The Scapegoats, the story of Admiral Kimmel and Commander Short.
We bought several other books on this subject at the Pearl Harbor bookstore.
World War II was the last war that adhered to the Constitution.
According to the Constitution, Article I Section 8, Congress (not the
president) shall declare war. Appropriations for money for the military
should be for no longer than 2 years.
There isn't even any discussion of a "resolution" as a means for starting
a war.
Article II, Section 1,
No state shall-----enter into compact with another state or foreign
power, or engage in war, unless actually invaded, or in such imminent danger
as will not admit of delay.
The war in Korea, the Gulf War and our present war in Iraq don't pass
Constitutional muster. In addition they involve the U.N., another
violation.
We have skimmed the past to better understand what is taking place
today.
No other related information could better describe the bungled mostly
secret inconceivable position our country has been drawn into save the
following rendition.
World War II brought us the Whiz Kids. Concerning the war in
Iraq today we are visited by a group identified by various titles.
Some of these include the Neocons, War Hawks, and Liberals in Drag, or
Liberals who have been mugged. As with the "Kids" these civilian
appointees work behind the scenes, although some of their names are now
appearing in the media.
This group came from the left-wing Democrat camp. Even before that
they were described as Trotskyites. Following the war in Vietnam,
they abandoned the Democrats and attached themselves to the Reagan Republicans.
While taking stands all over the map on domestic issues the neocons always
took an extremely aggressive stance on foreign policy. They praised
every U.S. foreign intervention including Clinton's "peacekeeping" intervention
in Kosovo.
Conservative Republicans used to be against pre-emptive strikes or
invasion. However now those who ESPOUSE this kind of action are designated
conservatives. Those opposed to such actions are now called liberals.
Thus the media intentionally intermixes the terms so confusion reigns.
The War Party neocons issued a report in 1997, titled Rebuilding America's
Defenses. This report was authored by The Project for the New American
Century (PNAC) and composed in the offices of the Weekly Standard.
William Kristol was the chairman of this group and editor of the Standard.
Rupert Murdock, finances many media enterprises on a global scale.
He is also a neocon backer. The Washing Post, Fox News and the Weekly
Standard all belong to Murdock.
This Project is a national agenda for empire building starting with
dumping Hussein, and bringing democracy to Iraq. In fact, the U.S.
is to control the rest of the world and institute democracies everywhere.
No other region shall threaten U.S. superiority. Following the war
in Iraq the other Arab nations, including Saudi Arabia will fall like dominos,
so this report tells us. With a little military encouragement from
us all will become democratized and thus friendly to Israel with whom we
are joined at the hip.
Many "traditional" conservatives, such as Pat Buchanan, Dr. Stan Monteith
and Congressman Ron Paul have signaled we shouldn't be involved in this
war and that PNAC is the foreign policy in effect.
What does Israel have to do with this?
For present purposes and lack of time we'll concentrate on certain
neocons in the Pentagon. They all harbor close relations with Israel.
Paul Wolfowitz, second in command of the Pentagon, Douglas Feith, third
in line at the Defense Department and Richard Perle, former consultant
to Rumsfeld until things got too hot and he slid into the background.
All are CFR members except for Kristol who is only a Bilderbergs person,
and Wolfowitz belongs to the CFR, Trilateral Commission and the Bilderbergs.
Of course, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Powell and Condoleezza Rice also belong to
the CFR fraternity as well. It is natural for them to appoint people
of that persuasion to their departments.
The Council on Foreign Relations promotes globalism but some members
differ on how to reach that international goal.
The real mess in our relationship with Iraq can be traced not only
to the neocons convincing Bush we needed to be involved there. It
involves a whole myriad of public relation firms, the neocons backing of
exiles who changed the course of things by providing disinformation, and
other unfortunate uninformed decisions.
Weapons of Mass Deception, the Uses of Propaganda in the War on Iraq,
this book by Rampton and Stauber exposes much more than will be related
here. The following is a sample of subjects covered in this book:
Attempts to use commercial advertising to sell the war in Iraq to the American
people. Officials using false information to connect Iraq with 9/11, "forged
documents and other deceptions that built the claim that Iraq possessed
huge stockpiles of banned weapons." "A secretive public relations
firm working for the Pentagon helped create the "opposition group" the
Iraqi National Congress that later became one of the driving forces behind
the decision to go to war.
It is the last subject concerning the Iraqi National Congress that
has caused media attention this past week.
Besides the intelligence gathering CIA, both the Departments of Defense
and State have their own investigative agencies within their divisions.
The neocons set up still another intelligence unit of their own in the
Pentagon. Eventually this neocon unit became the major player out
influencing even the CIA. In 1992, a PR group organized the Iraqi
National Congress (INC) which represented the first organization of anti-Saddam
forces. CIA money was channeled to this group that included numerous
religions and people of different backgrounds. The PR firm chose
their protégé, Ahmed Chalabi to be the group's leader.
Rather a strange choice because Chalabi left Iraq when a child and
really grew up in Jordan, Lebanon, England the U.S. He established
a bank in Jordan and was later accused by that government of committing
bank fraud. As a result Ahmed can't enter Jordan for fear of arrest.
Chalabi became connected with Richard Perle (one of the neocon liberals
in drag) who had won a spot as assistant defense secretary in the Reagan
administration
Members of the INC began to have a falling out with leader Chalabi.
Internal divisions led to the resignation of many members of the group.
CIA authorities distrusted Chalabi and the planned INC incursion into Iraq
was called "the Bay of goats." Nevertheless, Ahmed still had a relationship
within the corridors of Washington. The neocon pro-Israel hawks referred
to him as "the George Washington of Iraq."
Chalabi's fortunes took a turn for the better when the neocons in 1997
produced the Project for a New Century. Some important PNAC members besides
William Kristol included: William Bennett former Secretary of Education,
Elliot Abrams, Reagan official, Jeb Bush, Dick Cheney, Newt Gingrich, Steve
Forbes, Jeane Kirkpatrick (Pentagon advisor) Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz,
Richard Perle, former head of the CIA, James Woolsey and Norman Podhortez,
editor of Commentary magazine which publishes articles favorable to Israel.
By the way, one of Gingrich's former wives was a lobbyist for Israel while
Newt was in office.
In 1998, congress approved the "Liberation Act" declaring "regime change"
as an official government policy. Naturally this whole piece
of legislation was targeted at Iraq. Wolfowitz said this policy would allow
the deposing of Saddam without having to use military force. We all
know how this turned out.
This Liberation Act opened up an avenue of funding for Chalabi's INC.
and he was back in business. A former CIA official said the lobbying of
the INC was nothing but telling the Pentagon what they wanted to believe.
The tragedy of 9/11 brought to fruition the PNAC plan for invading
Iraq even though no Iraqis were involved with the incident.
Wolfowitz and the other Pentagon neocons used their own intelligence
set up to further Chalabi and the INC. Chalabi produced three Iraqi
defectors who claimed Saddam had weapons of mass destruction and mobile
biochemical units as well as underground facilities. These "experts"
who described Iraq as possessing all these dangerous weapons were sent
to U.S. newspapers to plant their stories. They went to England and
Germany to do the same thing. Meanwhile the out-foxed CIA had found
this information unsubstantiated but it fell on deaf ears.
Government officials are still talking about Iraq's weapons of mass
destruction even though this has been identified as part of the disinformation
provided by Chalabi.
An interim government was set up in Iraq and the neocons, despite opposition
from the State Department and elsewhere, flew Chalabi over to Iraq to assume
leadership of this new governing body. Not only did other American
officials object to this arrangement. The Iraqi people didn't want
someone who was under indictment and had lived outside of Iraq most of
his life to have a governing role.
About a week ago Rice, Feith, Perle and Wolfowitz found out by
watching television that the Iraqi police and U.S. soldiers had entered
Chalabi's office and residence by force. Electronic equipment was
taken and things were broken. Word has it that Ahmed was giving secret
U.S. information to Iran. He denies it and claims a desire to appear
before congress.
That would be a good idea because maybe they could find out why the
taxpayers were paying Chalabi $240,000 a month for his disinformation.
It is rumored that Chalabi's luck will eventually land him in good stead
either in Iran or someplace in the smoldering ruins of Iraq.
"Politicians are the same all over. They promise to build a bridge
where there is no river." Believe it or not this was a statement
by Nikita Kruschev.
