The Government's War on the American People

By Nancy Thomson

It is time we start defending ourselves against the government. Why have the government and media invested months of propaganda to a preemptive attack on Iraq? Researcher's information gathered from The Freedom of Information Act has cast a shadow on the validity of past military actions. All the more reason to question this edict for another war. Our Constitution allows us to go to war only in the instance of self- defense. Critics rightly question why Iraq, with a rag -tag army, no air- force, navy or delivery systems, presents a threat to the United States. Almost daily new allegations about Saddam Hussein and Iraq are brought forth. Many are subsequently dismissed as unreliable. Still the fishing expedition for reasons to start a war continues. Possession, or just about to possess, WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION, especially nuclear weapons, is the most contentious of all the go-to-war declarations.

Since Iraq poses no present threat and doesn't possess nukes, what Iraq MIGHT do in the future has become the rallying point for their destruction. Unreliable North Korea has caused consternation amongst America's war hawks. The communists have broken the 1994 nuclear weapons agreement by perfecting their nuclear weapons (Steve Chapman, Orange County Register, 10/21/02) In addition, the U.S. government had this information two years ago. Why do we want to invade and occupy Iraq, who doesn't have nuclear capabilities and excuse North Korea who has both nukes and delivery systems? Secretary of State, Colin Powell stated we have no plans to instigate military action against North Korea.

Our allies Russia, China and Pakistan have supplied North Korea with nuclear tools (George Gedda, Orange County Register, (10/19/02) Why do we have to suffer the "infamous friends" selected by the State Department? It is common knowledge that China interfered in U.S. elections by donating large sums to the Clinton DNC. Recently research of once classified KGB records show that the soviets collaborated with high-ranking Democrats. President Carter, fearing an election loss to Reagan, dispatched Armand Hammer (businessman, communist conspirator) to the Soviet Embassy. Carter asked the Russians to expand Jewish emigration to enhance his standing in the polls assuring them of privileges should he remain president. ("Reagan's War: The Epic Story of His forty-Year Struggle and Final Triumph Over Communism," Peter Schweizer) How unfortunate America becomes indebted to rogue nations resulting from agreements made by corrupt leaders.

The U.S. government is trying to keep our focus on Iraq while trying to ignore the obvious contradiction between the response to Hussein and North Korea.

Also being ignored is the upward economic mobility of China who is surpassing America in foreign investment and product manufacturing. This is an economic war in the making.

China paints a different picture about the U.S. terrorism problem. A book, "Unrestricted Warfare" by two People's Liberation Army (PLA) colonels (and translated by the CIA) was published on September 11, 2002. The authors dismiss our administration's insistence that the act on September 11 represented a nationless group called al-Qaeda. Instead the PLA military thinks 9/11 was a random act by independent agents. They mention terrorism as one of many tools nations will use to wage war against the U.S. This military manual states that we are China's premier enemy (NewsMaxStore.com)

In case of a bio-chemical or nuclear war Washington officials have ready shelters. No such facilities are available for civilians, but not to worry. We have been given the Patriot's Act and Homeland Security for our defense. A war with Iraq will saddle Americans with new taxes, endless regulations, and casualties for no bona fide cause. China, Russia and Pakistan will be placated and rewarded to remain in the "terrorist coalition." Who is being treated as the enemy?
